The town of Mijas is divided into three settlements; the Pueblo with its historic town centre, Mijas Costa and La Cala de Mijas. All districts exude their very own charm and invite you to spend relaxing days under the Spanish sun. The region is characterised by past bastions and fortress architecture due to earlier sea attacks on the coastal region of southern Spain. Everywhere you look you will find witnesses of days gone by - climb the old watchtowers of la Cala, Calaburras, Calahonda and Nueva and enjoy unique views over the Costa del Sol. La Muralla, the former hillside fortress, looks out over the historic part of Mijas to the open Mediterranean and invites you to let your mind wander.
