Holiday flat with south-facing balcony in a wonderful location
The house in which this holiday flat is rented is located in a village called Venoz at an altitude of 1800 m and belongs to the town of Nus. The village consists of around 20 houses dating back to the 18th century, which have been restored with care using typical materials from the valley.
The south-facing balcony offers a beautiful view of Monte Emilius.
However, this house was only built in 1993, albeit in the traditional style and with local materials. The flat is on two levels. On the ground floor there is a large kitchen and living room, a bathroom with shower and two bedrooms with two single beds and a bunk bed. The room with the bunk bed is not provided as a bedroom, but can still be used by guests. There is a wardrobe and a sideboard with bed linen and towels. There is also an attic room on the upper floor with a French double bed (140 x 190 cm). Some of the landlords' personal belongings are also stored in one of the bedrooms, as they also use the house in their free time. Of course, only when it is not rented out. Therefore, there are books and personal objects in the flat and an attractive equipment with washing machine, oven and dishwasher, gas heating, colour TV, HiFi, furniture, carpets, bed linen, blankets and towels. In addition to the existing gas heating, there is also a pellet stove (filled sacks are already in the house; costs per sack are listed under "Firewood"). Of course there are also cupboards for storing your belongings.
The neighbourhood is very quiet and is ideal for relaxation or meditation. Not far from the house there is a cross-country ski trail and a snowshoe trail that lead through the charming landscape of the Aosta Valley. In summer there are many interesting opportunities for walks. Nearby, many hiking trails lead up to 2600 metres, where the oratory of Cuney is located. The nearest village with shops and services is Nus, which is 16 km from Venoz. After a further 11 km you reach the town of Aosta, which is the capital of the Aosta Valley region with around 50,000 inhabitants. In Aosta you can find everything you need: Train station, bus services connecting the capital with the surrounding valleys, a shopping centre, a beautiful pedestrian area with shops, bars, restaurants and historical monuments dating back to Roman times. There are no shops in Venoz itself, but in Lignan, a village about 1 km below Venoz, where there is also an observatory, you will find a restaurant (family-run) and a tiny shop where you can find the essential groceries. In Nus you will find a wider selection of grocery shops, a bakery, a pharmacy, the post office, a bank, etc. It is recommended to buy groceries there. The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa and Turin. You can hire a car from the airport. The valley of Saint-Barthélemy is located in the centre of the Valle d'Aosta and from here it is easy to reach the mountains Monte Bianco, Monte Rosa, Gran Paradiso and Cervino.
There is a car park next to the house where you can leave your vehicle. Internet connection in the flat is possible via a stick. It is provided free of charge and contains about 3 GB per week. One adult dog is allowed, cats are unfortunately not possible due to the risk of allergies. Dog owners are requested to vacuum the flat thoroughly before leaving, even if the final cleaning is still carried out by the landlord.
